      Author Readings– Duration: 30-45 mins

      Designed for Pre-K through 2nd grade students, this service includes the reading of one or two books in the Impact of Positive Parent Child Relationship series by author Sabrina Carter. Students learn communication skills that are age appropriate and gain an understanding of proper ways to resolve disputes and social conflicts. The content provided during the author reading is in direct alignment with NJ CCCS 2.1 under 2.1.2 F Social and Emotional Health, where students learn to:

    • Describe and demonstrate appropriate ways to express wants, needs, and emotions.
    • Identify the possible causes of conflict and discuss appropriate ways to prevent and resolve conflicts.

    Student Workshops

  • Author Workshop – Duration: 30-45 mins

    • Designed for 3rd through 6th grade students, this service includes an overview of various writing styles and an introduction into the creation of a book incorporating the authors writing style along with the creative ideas of the students. During the academic school year, the workshop is modified to fit a typical classroom period of thirty to forty-five minutes. Three day workshops are also available and expand on the creation of a book to include the editing, illustrating and publishing process. Additional topics such as the importance of copyright protection and ISBN management are discussed.

  • Illustrator Workshop – Duration: 45 to 60 mins

    • Join award-winning syndicated cartoonist Jerry Craft as he shares his experiences as a professional cartoonist and illustrator. He’ll show you the secrets behind creating his Mama’s Boyz comic strip and teach you how he creates his children’s books from start to finish. Then it’s your turn to draw! Mr. Craft will give you step-by-step instruction to show you how you can use simple shapes to create your own cool comic book characters.

Parent Workshop

  • Positive Parent-Child Relationships – Duration: 45 to 60 mins

    • The Impact of Positive Parent Child Relationship workshop series focuses on helping parents and educators nurture children in every stage of their development. With an emphasis on education, this workshop series takes a subtle approach to raising the awareness of emotional forms of abuse that can lead to social and developmental problems in pre-adolescent children.   ”It is easier to build strong children than it is to repair broken men” and as such we have created this workshop to start the conversation with some and expand on it with others around the Impact of Positive Parent-Child Relationships.

    Fee: Starting at $250. Discounts apply to multiple sessions

    Minimum order requirement – 25 copies.
